The 6.5 PRC brass case by Lapua

Although the 6.5 Precision Rifle Cartridge (or 6. 5 PRC for short) was originally designed for long range hunting, the 6.5 PRC is still an excellent cartridge for both long range shooting and hunting. Its increased case capacity enables velocities up to 80 m/s or 262 fps faster than the 6.5 Creedmoor or 6,5×55 SE. By design, the 6.5 PRC cartridge case features a longer throat enabling the use of today’s popular, high ballistic coefficient, or HBC projectiles for long-range competitions. For reloading, the 6.5 PRC case is a good match with relatively slow burning rifle powder types. It is a great choice for heavier projectiles exceeding even 9,7 g / 150 grains with excellent retained energy and terminal performance for mid-sized and large game.

Made with Lapua’s typical dedication to precision, our 6.5 Creedmoor case has been refined just a bit, to make it an even better performer for match shooters and hunters alike. We’ve opted for the small rifle primer, which normally produces an optimized ignition and better hit accuracy than large primers in mid-sized cartridges like the Creedmoor.

We’ve also incorporated our smaller diameter flash hole (1.5mm, rather than the industry standard 2.0mm), which has proven to provide enhanced accuracy in reloading, and is used in a number of our other accuracy oriented cases. In this respect, the new 6.5 Creedmoor joins the ranks of our other dedicated accuracy cartridges such as the .220 Russian (6mm PPC), the 6mm BR Norma, the 6.5×47 Lapua and the .308 Win. Palma cases.

Description

The L7AWM® is an AR-10/SR-25 pattern rifle magazine constructed from a proprietary lightweight polymer with hardened steel feed lips that wrap completely around the magazine, maximizing stiffness and reliability while preventing dimpling in the front of the magazine. A switchable drain lock in the floor plate comes standard on all L7’s, allowing the user to configure the magazine for marine applications or extremely dusty conditions.
